Safe and Effective Sedation Dentistry
As experienced dentists, we understand that dental procedures can provoke significant anxiety for patients. While we have many ways to minimize or eliminate pain and discomfort, some patients still need some extra help to receive the care they need. That’s why at Axiom Dental, we provide safe, effective sedation dentistry in the serene, spa-like atmosphere of our clinic.
A Different, Modern Approach to Dentistry
At Axiom Dental, we believe that dental visits shouldn’t be something you dread. We’ve endeavoured to create a more welcoming, calming ambience in our clinic, reflected in our spa-like ambience and sophisticated decor. We aim to make your dental visits pleasant and efficient.
Mild Sedation
Mild sedation is usually given in pill form or through nitrous oxide inhalation (laughing gas). You’ll be awake throughout the procedure, but you’ll experience a sense of relaxation that typically wears off within a few hours of treatment.

Moderate Sedation
Moderate sedation is typically administered via IV and is another type of conscious sedation. You’ll remain awake during the procedure, but you’ll experience an even deeper state of relaxation than with mild sedation.
Deep Sedation
Deep sedation is given via IV and causes patients to drift in and out of consciousness during their procedures. Many patients have no memory of the treatment. Deep sedation is usually recommended for severe anxiety, or for longer, more complex dental procedures.
Aftercare
When undergoing sedation dentistry, it’s important that you’re accompanied by a friend or family member who can help you get home safely. Driving after sedation is unsafe, and you may feel temporarily disoriented, confused, or drowsy, which typically passes within a few hours.
